Privacy Policy

Effective: June 26, 2026 / Last updated: August 20, 2026

EMS Field (救急現場, hereinafter the "Service") is an app that lets healthcare professionals share, anonymously, the knowledge they gain in the field. We respect your privacy and work to protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Service collects and how that information is handled.

The Service exists so that healthcare professionals can share information with one another. It is not intended for medical diagnosis or treatment. Posts reflect the personal experience of individual users, and we make no warranty as to their accuracy or completeness.

1. Information We Collect

The Service collects the following information.

2. Anonymity

The Service is built around anonymous information sharing. The only things disclosed to other users are your posts, the username (display name) you chose yourself, and your occupation. Information that could identify you personally, such as your real name or email address, is never shown to other users. We recommend choosing a username that does not identify you.

3. How We Use Information

4. Transmission to AI Services

The content of your posts and any recorded audio are sent to the AI services we use (Claude by Anthropic and Whisper by OpenAI) in order to transcribe, structure, search for similar cases, and assist with answers. This data is not used to train those AI models.

5. Disclosure to Third Parties and Subprocessors

We do not provide your personal information to third parties except with your consent or where required by law. We use the following external services to operate the Service.

6. Data Retention and Security

Collected data is encrypted and stored securely. We apply appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, destruction, and alteration.

7. Deleting Your Data and Account

You can delete the account information stored on your device by logging out in the app, and you can delete your own posts at any time. You can also permanently delete your account from the app under Settings › Account › "Delete my account"; doing so permanently removes your account together with the cases, questions, likes, and bookmarks you created, and this cannot be undone. If you would prefer that we handle the deletion, please contact us using the details below. Please note that, given the nature of the Service, content you have already shared may in some cases remain after deletion.

8. Personal Information and Sensitive Data

Please do not include information that could identify an individual patient in your posts. The Service includes a mechanism that detects and warns you when a post may contain personal information, but final responsibility rests with you as the user.

9. Reporting and Blocking

If you encounter an inappropriate post or question, you can report it from within the app, or block the user so that their cases and questions are no longer shown to you. Reports are visible only to the operator and are reviewed within roughly 24 hours. Posts that accumulate a certain number of reports are hidden automatically.

10. Disclaimer

Information published on the Service is reference material based on the experience of healthcare professionals. It does not recommend or guarantee any particular diagnosis, treatment, or procedure. The operator accepts no liability for decisions or actions taken on the basis of information from the Service. Actual clinical care must follow the protocols and instructions of your own institution and your own professional judgment.
